brighton

Today Cloud , Muriel and myself went to Brighton. The day started of with the most amazing rainfall, two weeks in 40 minutes or something like that, but when I got back there wasn't anything to be seen.
We went by train and wandered to the Lanes in a drizzle, fortunately it stopped and the weather turned sunny and warm.
We had a lovely lunch in a little cafe, yummy and stunning chips.

then we found some wonderful shops and of course bought some things, very nice things, pretty labels , cups, mugs and other goodies.
Tea was the next thing I had some mint tea it looked very pretty.

Finally encouraged by Muriel we went all the way down to the sea, some very angry clouds and a lone seagull, the end of a very nice day, thanks guys.

Great Dixter and the cherries

Today was a most lovely day, Sandra and I went to Northiam and picked cherries from our wonderful cherry tree. I have about 4 kilo's of cherries, yummy !

Before we went to the cherry tree we wondered around the beautiful gardens of Great Dixter, an overdose of the most stunning colourful, original and dazzling borders and gardens.

I also did a drawing at the bookshop yesterday, a very nice couple from Reigate visited the shop they were delightful and liked the chocolate brownie !

After the cherries we went to Tunbridge Wells bought some lovely shoes at Hotter and had some lunch , what a nice day !

London the RA and the weather

Today I met Ruth at the RA and we pottered round the Summer Exhibition. some very good work from Melvyn Evans who sold about 40 prints and Barbara Sykes whose wonderful drawing won the Hugh Casson price for drawing. And then there was David Tyndall  and my favourite Barbara Rae, fabulous prints and two stunning paintings.

After that we went to a wonderful  vegetarian restaurant the food was just fab, Tibits Restaurant go and eat there, you fill your plate and pay for what you put on your plate, yummy ! But thunder and lightening and lots of rain made us run to the bus, just missing the worst.

After a while the weather was sunny again, this is from the RV1 bus stop, the London Eye and some sort of whirley gig.

We went to Intaglio Printmakers, the most fabulous shop for printmakers, I bought some paper for the next litho class, the then we yet again ran to the little Union Street cafe and sat nice and dry through the next downpour the temperature dropped and it was wonderful cool and clean.

Then home on the train where I looked at my new Garden Theft prints, a very good day !

Its still hot and at 4 o'clock I decided to hang the washing out.  Last night Jo and I went to The Pizza place and had a lovely pizza, I had an Emilia, I think it was very tasty, nice to get out of the house and do something else apart from drawing and printing.
