We are coming to the end of the Winnifred Nicholdson project, everybody has done some lovely pictures, some more than one and some people are already starting the next project, Emily Carr, whose amazing exhibition is at the Dulwich Gallery now until March.
The interesting way Winnifred painted was that she took amazing care of the back grounds of the images but then at the end the painted the foreground image with strong and bold marks using thick paint, as far as we know she didn't draw or trace or even use pale paint marks, but she just went for it.
You have to be brave to be a painter, go for it.
